Overview

Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan. Situated just 20 km west of Everest, this 8,188-meter peak on the Nepal–Tibet border is known for its more accessible and less technical route, making it a preferred choice for mountaineers attempting their first 8000er. First summited in 1954, Cho Oyu remains a popular choice among climbers seeking both challenge and safety.

It is one of the best training grounds for those preparing for Everest, offering real high-altitude climbing experience without the extreme hazards found on steeper peaks. The mountain’s straightforward route, manageable slopes, and fewer technical challenges make it an excellent option for mountaineers aiming to summit an 8000-meter peak for the first time.

With Kami Rita Sherpa and his expert team, this expedition offers world-class guidance, exceptional logistics, and an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Himalayas. The route passes through Tingri and Chinese Base Camp, then ascends through Advanced Base Camp along the legendary Northwest Ridge.
